South East Central Railway (SECR) has released the official notification for the engagement of Act Apprentices in the Nagpur Division and Motibagh Workshop, Nagpur for the year 2026-27 under the Apprentices Act 1961. Eligible and interested candidates who have passed Class 10th and hold an ITI certificate can apply online through the Apprenticeship India web portal from 19 May 2026 to 18 June 2026. Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 10th class (Matriculation) examination or its equivalent (under 10+2 system) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
- Technical Qualification: Must possess a National Trade Certificate (ITI) in the notified trade issued by NCVT or SCVT.
Age Limit (As on 19/05/2026)
- Minimum Age Required: 15 Years.
- Maximum Age Limit: 24 Years.
- Age relaxation will be applicable as per rules (OBC – 3 Years, SC/ST – 5 Years, PwBD/ExSM – 10 Years).
Selection Process
- Step 1: Preparation of Merit List: The selection will be based entirely on a Merit List. There will be no written test or interview. The merit will be calculated by taking the average of the percentage marks obtained by the candidates in the 10th Class (with minimum 50% aggregate) and ITI marks in the relevant trade.
- Step 2: Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification.
- Step 3: Medical Fitness Test: Selected candidates must submit a medical certificate in the prescribed format signed by a Government authorized Doctor (Gazetted) before joining.
