Indian Air Force AFCAT 02/2026 Recruitment: Apply Online for 379 Vacancies

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released the official notification for the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT- 02/2026) for Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches / NCC Special Entry / GATE Score Entry. The courses will commence in July 2027. Eligible and unmarried Indian men and women can apply online from 20 May 2026 to 19 June 2026 (23:30 Hrs). Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

  • Flying Branch: Candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level and Graduation with minimum three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent OR BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) with a minimum of 60% marks.
  • Ground Duty (Technical): Candidates with a minimum of 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of four years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/Technology.
  • Ground Duty (Non-Technical): Graduation/Post Graduation degree in relevant disciplines (like Administration, Logistics, Accounts, Education, Meteorology) with required minimum percentages as per the official notification.
  • Note: Candidates must be unmarried at the time of commencement of the course.

Age Limit (As on 01 July 2027)

  • Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years (born between 02 July 2003 and 01 July 2007). (Upper age limit relaxable up to 26 years for candidates holding valid Commercial Pilot License).
  • Ground Duty (Tech & Non-Tech): 20 to 26 years (born between 02 July 2001 and 01 July 2007).

Selection Process

  • Step 1: Written Examination: Online AFCAT examination will be conducted on 08 August 2026 for shortlisting candidates.
  • Step 2: AFSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) testing which includes Intelligence Test, Psychological Test, Group Tests, and Interview. (Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS) for Flying branch only).
  • Step 3: Medical Examination: Strict medical examination will be conducted for candidates recommended by AFSB.
  • Step 4: Final Merit List: Based on the performance in the written exam and AFSB interview.

Q.1 AFCAT exam clear karne ke baad selection process kya hota hai?

AFCAT ka written exam pass karne wale candidates ko Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) interview ke liye bulaya jata hai. Yeh interview 5 din tak chalta hai jisme psychological tests, group tasks aur personal interview shamil hote hain. Flying branch walon ko alag se ek CPSS (Computerised Pilot Selection System) test bhi dena hota hai.

Q.2 AFCAT Ground Duty (Technical) form bharne ke liye education kya chahiye?

Ground Duty (Technical) branch mein apply karne ke liye candidate ka 12th mein Physics aur Maths mein kam se kam 50% marks hona zaroori hai. Iske sath hi engineering (B.E. ya B.Tech) mein 4 saal ki degree bhi honi chahiye jisme minimum 60% marks aane chahiye.

Q.3 Kya final year wale students AFCAT form apply kar sakte hain?

Haan bilkul! Agar aap apne graduation ya engineering degree ke aakhiri saal mein hain aur aapka abhi tak ka koi backlog nahi hai, toh aap AFCAT ke liye apply kar sakte hain. Bas aapko training shuru hone se pehle apni degree complete karni hoti hai.

Q.4 AFCAT Flying branch ke liye age limit kya rakhi gayi hai?

Flying branch mein aam taur par 20 se 24 saal ke beech wale unmarried candidates apply kar sakte hain. Lekin, agar kisi ke paas DGCA ka valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL) hai, toh uske liye maximum age limit 26 saal tak chhoot ke sath hoti hai.
