Exam Preparation & Rules
Q1: Is there any negative marking in government exams?
Yes, most objective-type exams (SSC, Banking, Railways) have negative marking to penalize guesswork. Typically, it is 1/3rd or 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question. You can verify this by downloading the official PDF from our Syllabus Page.
Q2: What is the difference between Group A, B, C, and D Sarkari jobs?
Group A (like IAS, IPS) are top-tier managerial roles. Group B includes Gazetted and Non-Gazetted officers (like Section Officers). Group C consists of clerical, supervisory, and technical staff (like SSC CHSL/CGL posts), while Group D involves supportive staff roles (like Railway Track Maintainers).
Q3: What is a PET/PST in Police and Defense jobs?
PET stands for Physical Efficiency Test (running, long jump), and PST stands for Physical Standard Test (height, chest, weight measurements). These are mandatory qualifying rounds. You can track when these tests are scheduled via our Admit Cards section.
Application & Selection Process
Q4: Can I apply for multiple government jobs at the same time?
Absolutely! There is no restriction on the number of exams you can apply for, provided you meet the educational and age eligibility criteria for each specific post.
Q5: What happens after I pass a government job written exam?
Depending on the job Group, passing the written exam is usually followed by a Skill Test (like Typing), a Physical Test (for police/defense), or direct Document Verification (DV). Group B and C posts generally do not have interviews anymore.
Q6: What is Document Verification (DV)?
Document Verification is the final stage of recruitment. Candidates present their original educational, identity, and category certificates to the board to verify the claims made in their online application form.
Career & Benefits
Q7: What is the difference between Central Govt Jobs and State Govt Jobs?
Central jobs (Railways, Defense) fall under the Union Government with postings anywhere in India and Central Pay Commission salaries. State jobs (State Police, Revenue Inspector) fall under the State Government with postings strictly within the state and State Pay Commission benefits.
Q8: Are there government job opportunities for freshers without experience?
Yes, the vast majority of Group C and Group D posts, along with many Group B officer posts (like SSC CGL, Bank PO), are open to fresh graduates, 12th pass, and 10th pass candidates with absolutely zero prior work experience required.
