Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed a 3-year Diploma Course from a State/Central Government recognized Polytechnic Institute in one of the following subjects: Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Tele Communication, Information Technology, or Electrical & Electronics.
- Percentage Required: Minimum 50% marks required for UR/OBC/EWS candidates, and 45% marks for SC/ST candidates in the Diploma course.
Physical Standards (PMT)
- Height (Male): UR/BC: 165 cm | EBC/SC/ST: 160 cm.
- Height (Female): All Categories: 155 cm.
- Chest (Male Only): UR/BC/EBC: 81-86 cm | SC/ST: 79-84 cm (Minimum 5 cm expansion required).
- Weight (Female Only): Minimum 48 Kg.
Age Limit (As on 01/08/2025)
- Minimum Age Required: 21 Years.
- Maximum Age Limit: 37 Years (UR Male) | 40 Years (UR Female, BC/EBC Male & Female) | 42 Years (SC/ST Male & Female).
- Age relaxation will be applicable as per Bihar Government Rules.
Selection Process
- Step 1: Preliminary Written Exam: A 100-mark objective test of 2 hours. It consists of 40 questions on General Knowledge/Current Affairs and 60 technical questions from the candidate’s chosen diploma subject. Candidates scoring less than 30% will be disqualified.
- Step 2: Main Written Exam: Consists of two papers. Paper-I is General Language (50 marks Hindi, 50 marks English, qualifying nature). Paper-II is the Technical Subject Paper (100 questions, 100 marks, 3 hours duration). Note: There is a negative marking of 0.2 marks for every wrong answer in both Preliminary and Main exams.
- Step 3: Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Qualifying nature. Includes 1.6 Km running in 7 mins for males (1 Km in 7 mins for females), High Jump, Long Jump, and Shot Put.
- Step 4: Final Merit List: The final merit list will be prepared based strictly on the marks obtained in Paper-II of the Main Written Examination.
- Step 5: Document Verification & Medical Examination.
