Indian Air Force AFCAT 02/2026 Recruitment: Apply Online for 379 Vacancies
The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released the official notification for the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT- 02/2026) for Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches / NCC Special Entry / GATE Score Entry. The courses will commence in July 2027. Eligible and unmarried Indian men and women can apply online from 20 May 2026 to 19 June 2026 (23:30 Hrs). Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
- Flying Branch: Candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level and Graduation with minimum three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent OR BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) with a minimum of 60% marks.
- Ground Duty (Technical): Candidates with a minimum of 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of four years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/Technology.
- Ground Duty (Non-Technical): Graduation/Post Graduation degree in relevant disciplines (like Administration, Logistics, Accounts, Education, Meteorology) with required minimum percentages as per the official notification.
- Note: Candidates must be unmarried at the time of commencement of the course.
Age Limit (As on 01 July 2027)
- Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years (born between 02 July 2003 and 01 July 2007). (Upper age limit relaxable up to 26 years for candidates holding valid Commercial Pilot License).
- Ground Duty (Tech & Non-Tech): 20 to 26 years (born between 02 July 2001 and 01 July 2007).
Selection Process
- Step 1: Written Examination: Online AFCAT examination will be conducted on 08 August 2026 for shortlisting candidates.
- Step 2: AFSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) testing which includes Intelligence Test, Psychological Test, Group Tests, and Interview. (Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS) for Flying branch only).
- Step 3: Medical Examination: Strict medical examination will be conducted for candidates recommended by AFSB.
- Step 4: Final Merit List: Based on the performance in the written exam and AFSB interview.
